“Terroir” means "a sense of place" - everything about the environment that makes a wine unique. There are also memories, stories, inspirations - that shape us and make us unique.
This painting was born from a fall visit to a vineyard after the harvest, when the leaves were red and burgundy, pruned vines crackled in small fires, and a ribbon of smoke drifted into the evening sky. Like a good red wine, this abstract landscape opens in layers: warmth, depth, and a slow, nostalgic finish. It’s a piece about earth and time - its rhythm, its rituals, and the beauty.
